Yesterday evening, we dedicated a new public artwork at the Legends Center. The artwork, titled “Legends,” is a temporary digital projection mapping project by the Castano Group celebrating African American trailblazers and their impact on the community through a vibrant and colorful display.

CCGJ joined with City Council Member Ju’Coby Pittman, Executive Director of the Office of Economic Development Ed Randolph, Director of Parks, Recreation and Community Services Daryl Joseph, and the Castano Group to dedicate the artwork, a first of its kind in the City’s public art collection.

You can see it displayed nightly from 8pm-11pm on the exterior of the Legends Center.

Today marked a historic day for @cityofjax, the Cultural Council and our arts community. Through the city funded Individual Artist Grant Pilot Program, 60 talented artists in Duval County received $10,000 each to support their creative endeavors. We honored these individuals at City Hall and celebrated this momentous occasion. Thank you @dhdeegan , @cityofjax , City Council the ACE Transition Committee and many others who made this significant grant possible for our artist community. We remain steadfast in championing for our cultural sector bringing #moreartculture to Jacksonville!
