April Hartwich is the Director of Marketing & Communications at the Cultural Council of Greater Jacksonville, where she oversees the organization’s marketing strategy, media relations and brand messaging to champion the city’s vibrant arts and cultural landscape. As the organization’s chief storyteller, she works to advance awareness of its mission and programs, while amplifying the voices of artists and cultural organizations across the region.
A Jacksonville native with over 14 years of experience in marketing and communications, April has built a career at the intersection of culture and marketing. Her path began in radio, serving in roles from on-air talent to promotions and production, before expanding into agency advertising, citywide cultural programming, and large-scale event marketing – all with a focus on creative, community-centered promotion.
Before joining the Cultural Council, April served the greater Jacksonville region in many capacities, championing its cultural landscape in both public and private roles. She served as the Director of Marketing for The St. Augustine Amphitheatre, Ponte Vedra Concert Hall, and Sing Out Loud Festival. She also previously led marketing for all City of Jacksonville-produced events, including the Jacksonville Jazz Festival, one of the largest free jazz festivals in the country, and the Florida-Georgia football game, a major sports and cultural tradition. Prior to that, she managed marketing for entertainment and sporting events at city-owned venues with ASM Global. Throughout these roles, April’s leadership helped elevate events of all sizes, driving community engagement and regional tourism.
April holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communications with a concentration in Advertising from the University of North Florida, and a Master’s degree in Hospitality Management: Mega Events from Florida International University.
