The Cultural Council of Greater Jacksonville administers the City of Jacksonville’s Art in Public Places Program mandated by City ordinance to acquire, procure, maintain, restore, install, and perform responsible stewardship of public art throughout the City.

The APP program works in partnership with a wide variety of stakeholders to scope, design and realize public art projects, which celebrate Jacksonville’s cultural assets, improves public infrastructure, and creates safer spaces.
Public Art programming also has clear ties to economic development through increased property values, cultural tourism, business attraction and human capital desiring a rich quality of life. In addition to administering the Art in Public Places Program for the City of Jacksonville, the Cultural Council’s Public Art Department also offers a variety of public and private consulting and curation services. We champion the process from ideation to installation with the understanding that a variety of skills, personalities, regulations and interests contribute to the collective effort.
