Arts organizations, like many of those supported by the Cultural Council of Greater Jacksonville, are making difficult choices due to unexpected and unprecedented state funding shortfalls. As a city, we need arts and culture organizations to sustain the quality of life that is the very foundation of tourism and economic development efforts.
Cultural Service Grant Program (CSGP) organizations are one of the essential economic drivers with $6 million publicly-funded into the CSGP program and a return on investment of $135 million back to the City of Jacksonville in economic impact. The CSGP unites communities, enhances public safety, boosts civic engagement, and enriches our quality of life—positioning Jacksonville as a thriving destination city.
In recent years, the City of Jacksonville has shown strong, bipartisan support for the creative sector. This investment has fueled dynamic growth across Downtown and throughout Greater Jacksonville.
