We deeply value the City of Jacksonville’s investment in the creative sector—and we’re committed to maximizing that impact with sustained funding. For over five years, City Council has held the line as champions for the creative economy. As Mayor Deegan’s mayoral budget address sustained funding for the Cultural Service Grant Program and the Art in Public Places Program, we need to continue our championship momentum as City Council finalizes the 2025-2026 budget.
The 2025-2026 proposed budget marks a powerful starting point—not just for momentum, but as a building block toward the larger victory we’re shaping together. By championing arts and culture through the Cultural Service Grant Program and Art in Public Places Program, we’re not only sustaining vital work—we’re elevating it, amplifying its impact, and moving our entire sector closer to the recognition, investment, and transformation it truly deserves.
Now is an important time to support and champion for the creative sector and make your voice heard.
Arts organizations, like many of those supported by the Cultural Council of Greater Jacksonville, are making difficult choices due to unexpected and unprecedented state funding shortfalls. As a city, we need arts and culture organizations to sustain the quality of life that is the very foundation of tourism and economic development efforts.
Cultural Service Grant Program (CSGP) organizations are one of the essential economic drivers with $6 million publicly-funded into the CSGP program and a return on investment of $135 million back to the City of Jacksonville in economic impact. The CSGP unites communities, enhances public safety, boosts civic engagement, and enriches our quality of life—positioning Jacksonville as a thriving destination city.
In recent years, the City of Jacksonville has shown strong, bipartisan support for the creative sector. This investment has fueled dynamic growth across Downtown and throughout Greater Jacksonville.
Please join us in championing to City Council, as Mayor Deegan has submitted her budget which includes sustained funding through the City of Jacksonville’s budget.
We deeply value the City of Jacksonville’s investment in the creative sector—and we’re committed to maximizing that impact.
Sustained arts and culture funding doesn’t just support our sector—it drives small business growth, fuels entrepreneurship, strengthens destination appeal, and delivers exponential returns for the City’s economy.
