CULTURAL COUNCIL SEEKING NOMINATIONS FOR ANNUAL ARTS AWARDS

Deadline February 9, 2012

JACKSONVILLE, FL — The Cultural Council of Greater Jacksonville is seeking nominations for the 36th Annual Arts Awards. Awards will be made in the categories of business, individual, educator and small business. The deadline for submissions is February 9, 2012.

Awards are made by the selection committee of local arts and business leaders, educators, past recipients and Cultural Council board members. Winners will be announced at the Arts Awards in May 8, 2012.

The committee will review nominations based on criteria including: community outreach, service to the underserved, and the development of unique programs and collaborations. Small business nominations will be accepted from companies with gross revenues of less than $5 million and fewer than 100 employees.

Nominations are open to artists if their contributions clearly demonstrate outstanding service to the community; if accomplishments have exceeded professional responsibilities and if the superior quality of their work has heightened the awareness of an artistic discipline in the community.

Nominations can be made by the nominee or a second party. For a complete set of criteria or a nomination form, click here Nomination Criteria/Form [PDF]
