Choose from four programs: Adventures in Architecture, which includes a lecture and walking tour of Fernandina’s historic district; Seas of Change: The Story of Nassau County, about the Timucuan Native Americans and the history of the area under eight flags; Timuc-a-who? with Native American craftmaking and lessons on local agriculture and animal life; Victorian Tea Program, about ladies during the Victorian era with tea, crafts, and a walking tour through the historic district.

Dedicated to preserving the history and heritage of the Beaches, the Historical Society provides guided and self-guided tours of Pablo Historical Park. Programs and field trips on local history are available for school children both on-site and in the classroom.

Mandarin Museum & Historical Society

Facilities include the new Mandarin Museum, Mandarin Store and Post Office and the Walter Jones Historical Park with barn, outbuildings, sawmill and riverfront boardwalk. Field trip opportunities for students to learn about life in northern Florida in the late 1800’s – early 1900’s. The content of the tours, as well as the historical period relate directly to the Sunshine State Standards for Florida history.

The museum offers programs to school groups presenting the history of the antebellum south. After a presentation in the museum, the children are given the opportunity to handle and fire the old muskets in the courtyard behind the museum.

The gallery features a variety of exhibits, including fine art collections, folk art, local art, and history exhibitions throughout the year. Educational programs for youngsters and schools showcase local African American history.
