Art of Doing Business: Artist’s Rights presented by the Cultural Council and the Cultural Center of Ponte Vedra Beach

This workshop will take place at the Cultural Center of Ponte Vedra located at 50 Executive Way on Saturday, February 19, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Attorney Kate Rowe, of Smith, Gambrell, & Russell, and attorney Karen Koster Burr will discuss legal issues of importance for visual artists, specifically copyright and key contract issues. this is a great opportunity to bring legal questions to attorneys familiar with art law issues.

Inspired by their experience helping artists recover from Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, the Craft Emergency Relief Fund has created an essential tool to help all levels of artists prepare for and recover from natural disasters. The Studio Protector is an easy-to-use informational toolkit that no artist should be without. Elsewhere Collaborative Residency Program

Elsewhere Collaborative is a living museum, experimental artist residency program, and learning laboratory set within a three story former thrift store housing one women’s massive 58-year collection of surplus, thrift and antiques. Elsewhere’s residency program offers a one-of-a-kind experience. The program hosts 35 creators from across the world each year or six at a time. Creative working in all media may apply— artists, writers, scholars, inventors, builders, educators, crafters, architects, designers, magicians, etc. Residents pay a small participation fee. Fulbright Scholar Program

The Fulbright Scholar Program sends 800 U.S. faculty and professionals of all levels, including artists, abroad each year. Grantees lecture and conduct research in a wide variety of academic and professional fields. Grants range from two months in length to a full academic year. DEADLINE: 2011 TBD.

Cathedral Arts Project – Guest Artists

The Cathedral Arts Project is seeking qualified visual artists, photographers and folk artists to enhance CAP’s programming in elementary school classes with innovative, short term projects. Guest artists will spend one or two afternoons in each class. The intents is to expose students to unique skills or projects that will augment standard curriculum. i.e. claymation, computer art, weaving, jewelry-making, pottery, bookbinding, silk screening, etc.

Art With a Heart for Children

Art with a Heart for Children is seeking visiting artists for their non-profit program that provides creative opportunities for children at Wolfson Children’s Hospital and Nemours Children’s Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. The program has a full-time artist-in-residence who visits patients daily. Visiting artists are brought in for a two hour creative group session the second Tuesday of each month.
